Over the last week or so I’ve been trying out some new products from Soulthing – a UK based company who sell high quality supplements to promote health, wellness and good nutrition. Their products are perfect for when you’re a bit busy or hectic but still want to get your full hit of vitamins and minerals.
They have a great range to choose from, whether you’re looking to boost your immune system or energy levels, combat joint pain, up your protein intake, or just get a good all round hit of nutrients.
So what’s Nourish Me?
Nourish Me comes in capsules and is a blend of superfoods including iodine rich seaweed (ascophyllum nodosum and fucus vesiculosus), artichoke, chlorella, green tea, spirulina, rhubarb and cayenne. It’s 100% organic, dairy and gluten free. A tub of 100 capsules is £19.95.
What does it do?
The ingredients are alkalising and promote a natural detoxifying process along with nourishing your body and boosting your immune system.
They suggest taking 1 or 2 capsules, between 1-3 times a day.
The capsules aren’t too big, are easy to swallow with no nasty after taste. I love the fact that so many nutrients are crammed into each capsule, so if you can’t afford to stuff your cupboards full of superfoods you can still get all of the benefits!
I love the name – it just sounds like it’s going to be good for you! I’ll report back in my monthly fitness post with an update once I’ve been taking them longer. (I started out with a sore throat and a sniffy nose and taking 1 a day has helped me get through it with minimal suffering or it turning into a full blown cold.)
L-Glutamine is 100% pure amino acid powder with no nasties, preservatives or additives and a 100g tub costs £12.95.
The powder form means you can add it to other meals like yoghurt, porridge, smoothies or juices.
It’s a popular supplement with athletes and anyone who lifts heavy weights at the gym. Lorraine Pascale is a fan and in this recent Women’s Health article she says she adds some to her morning shake every day.
What does it do?
Soulthing call this supplement ‘Your body’s first aid kit’ – we could all do with one of those every now and again!
It helps to build and repair muscle and tissue, skin, hair and nails, DNA, hormones, the enzymes that help our body function and the antibodies that make up our immune system. It’s also great for improving your digestive system.
The powder dissolves easily when mixed with fruit juice or water, it doesn’t have much flavour or an after taste.
It’s perfect for me at the moment as I’m training quite hard using heavy weights 3-4 times a week and it seems to have been helping with my recovery and reducing the aches. The powder form is also great for adding into my breakfast and post gym shake.
Again, I’ll report back in my monthly fitness post once I’ve been using it a little longer but I expect this will become a regular part of my post workout recovery routine
Other products in their range include: Stay Flexi – glucosamine combined with superfood nutrients, Fibre Plus – ‘to keep things moving and shaking’ need I say any more, and Goodness – capsules containing a blend of 14 different superfoods and beneficial herbs including green tea, beetroot, spirulina and wheatgrass.
Supplements don’t have to be boring or complicated. Just have a look at Soulthing’s friendly website and the names and descriptions should point you in the right direction! You can also get 10% discount off all orders with this special SIP Scoff Scribe code SSS2015 which is valid until December 31st 2015.
