I’m a huge pancake fan and love them anyway them come, sweet, savoury, American, French or traditional. This year I thought I’d research how to make some ‘healthier’ style pancakes. Sure they’re still fried, carby and most definitely a treat but hey it’s Shrove Tueaday so you’ve got to have pancakes – right?
I’ve decided I’m going to try make a basic pancake batter but switching my usual plain white flour for some quinoa flour. (It’s organic, gluten and sugar free, low in fat and high in protein). I’m still figuring out what toppings to add. Some of my favourites are savoury ham and cheese with an egg on top and traditional lemon and syrup. Mmm!
